Can naturally thin people eat whatever they want?

Even though a lot of people might tell you to ‘just eat a lot of junk food’,  – and you think that you can eat whatever you want because you don’t gain weight anyways – you might want to be careful.

Many people believe that naturally skinny people don’t have to think about what they eat, that they can eat whatever they like. But just because you can eat whatever you want without gaining weight, that does not mean it is healthy for your body to be on a fast-food diet all week. In fact, naturally thin people often don’t realize the influence junk food has on their body because their outer body does not show any symptoms -it doesn’t get thicker. However, even though your outer-body does not show any symptoms, your inner body might suffer.

Physical therapist Ajith Jain says that naturally thin people should avoid fast food just like everyone else.

“If they eat that they are prone to Hypertension and Heart diseases as anyone else,” says Jain.

He recommends naturally thin people to eat healthy “good nutrituous food” as well.

  1. Pina, this a wonderful website! You did such an awesome job, Im proud of u. I wish I was XS so I could use these tips! You better get an A on this one

  2. I went through a phase of deliberately eating MORE food – despite already having a big appetite – just to gain weight becuase it hurt so much when people put me down with all the stares and comments. But hell, I’m def not doing it now – i’ve totally accepted my body and the fact that I should feel lucky being naturally thin :) and yes I def do and I’m just gonig to ignore peoples nasty comments.

I don’t think my diet is the healthiest because its quite high in calories and sugar and fat all together XD Sugar and fat is the best comination.. i love it i just can’t seem to stay away from it I mean I GAG when I hear the words ’steamed veggies’ But i like fruit though, its sweet but still – preferrably with some fatty dip/topping like peanut butter or chocolate nut spread :99 yes I love food too – I’m not obsessed with cooking etc – I just like tasting stuff , and you only live once so why not just enjoy life??

I RARELY think about that I have to eat something healthy and low-low calorie/fat ettc etc – that’sa basically a recipe to suicide to me. But still most of the fat I’m eating are good fats, like from nuts, avocados etc I mean as long as you feel healthy why worry? And i never count calories either – who want to live with a bunch of numbers each day?????

Anyway, its still a good idea for us skinny girls to try eat more healthier, but if you really don’t want to or find it very hard to change your habits, I reckon you should just let it be and eat what you want – especially if you’re already feeling healthy and all

    :)

  3. I totally agree with you mist. For a while I tried to stuff as much food in me as I could to gain weight and it never worked and I often didn’t feel good from unhealthy eating. In the last several months though I have totally changed my lifestyle. I am eating mostly organic foods and whole grains. I love eggs. No more fast food for me ever and no preservative or processed foods for me. My mother always home grew all our vegetables and I never thought much of it but now I am going back to eating the way I did growing up. I drink no soda…mostly just water and a cup of coffee in the morning and I like orange juice. I know I can’t totally avoid unhealthy foods but they will not be in my diet very much. I still have sweets but in moderation. I don’t count calories either. After trying for years to gain weight I have actually gained 5 healthy pounds slowly with all the healthy eating I have been doing. I am actually eating more now than I did before when I was stuffing the unhealthy foods in me.

Nuts and avocados are wonderful too….very healthy. I eat three healthy meals a day. I used to skip breakfast a lot but now I make sure to have it every morning. My favorite breakfast right now is a whole grain bagel with egg and cheese on it and fruit.

I am totally giving my body the best nutrients I can and letting it do what it needs to naturally. I have also decided to eliminate as much of stress in my life as I can. I couldn’t belive a study I saw recently that said stress can shave off so many years of your life and make you very unhealthy.

I still need to work on excersing more to tone up.

  4. hey thats really good to hear :D keep it up! i so agree with you that a diet too high in junk/snack foods can make you feel sick, tired and just puts stress on your digestive system – not a way to go!

I also make sure i have my 3 meals each day – sometimes it becomes 4 when i have an bigger snack meal/small meal (dep on how you see it as) in between hehe I love eggs too, boiled, in omelettes, in stirfries… pancakes etc! it has lots of nutrients too! and cheese is sooo nice – all vareties!! i think its the fatty/creamy texture of it that makes it taste so good :P

I rarely stress – i try not to, i def dont like it i mean if i its just a little i still avoid it when i can! About exercising – its very good for you, and i onlöy exercise for HEALTH – never like to lose weight etc. I don’t have an exercise routine either – i just do it whenever i feel like my body needs it, and its more enjoyable that way than forcing yourself! because i get bored by routine stuff – and alot of exercise wont be fun either :P

my breakfast incl peanut butter sandwiches, if you go to my little food blog peanutbutter.wordpress.org you’ll see more :)

  5. whoops wrong addy! peanutbutterlover.wordpress.org there we go :D

  6. Yes, one of my relatives eats absolutely loads of food and remains slim and healthy. She eats a variety of foods; lots of them healthy, some not as healthy. Her mother does not eat anywhere near as much and is overweight. Her mother says that her daughter should be the fat one and she should be the thin one. I also have other relatives who eat whatever they want and they are thin too. Some of them eat a lot, some of them don’t eat as much, but they all eat whatever they want. I would find it very difficult to believe if I didn’t witness this for myself.

  7. I’m naturally skinny and I consume a lot of bad food, and I can tell you that its true, You feel really bad internally, I feel unfit and its given me cholesterol problems (I thought I’d get diabetes, but my blood test shown that I have a lot of blood fat). So don’t think naturally skinny people can eat whatever they want, becauses in years to come, they’ll be suffering lots of health problems.

  8. I’m also naturally skinny, I eat so much junk food and really unhealthy foods but I never gain weight. At one point I was scared that I was too skinny and tried to gain weight but I still couldn’t. So now I just accept myself for what I am.
I’m 16, 5ft 7 and have never weighed over 112 lbs. What do you think?

  9. Ha Ha Ha.. :D
This is so true if you are talking about “naturally” skinny people…
I agree with Sophie… I am also one of those… I am 21 my weight is 37 KGs LOL… I am 5′1… I eat and sleep… No hard work at all but whatever I eat never matter… :D
    So… this is true..! ProVed!!!

  10. hey!

i am tired of people calling me anerixic but now i just laugh it off.

i no they are just jealous.

this one girl was relly bugging me and i just told her that in 10 years time she owuld be in a dead end job and i would be walking the cat walks of Milan….lmao

  11. Ya, up to a certain age. lol

I could eat whatever I wanted until I hit about 27. Then I noticed I have to watch it or I gain weight. But the main thing is to eat HEALTHY!

  12. Yeepp im naturally skinny too. im 16yrs old and weigh 47kg.
it does annoy me when people are always asking me if I eat anything. the answer is yes of course!
I really don’t eat healthy at all though. I eat soo much junk food its not funny. but yet I still never seem to gain any weight! but I want to try and start eating healthy. and maybee I might gain some weight by doing soo. but till I do gain weight im trying my best to love my body how it is at the moment :)

    • Yep I’m naturally skinny too. I’m 36 years old and have tried it all to gain weight, even went on a hypercalorie diet to gain weight and lost weight. I accept my body now but it’s true i have never gotten many compliments, mostly from people who wished they were skinnier. I’ve put up with comments like “anorexic, ethiopian, bag of bones” etc, etc, I would never say the equivalent expressions to a fat person, so I don’t know why they think it’s ok to say it to a skinny person. The only time I really gained weight was when I was pregnant, I gained 17 kg (from 50 to 67kg) but I’ve lost it all now and weigh less than before I was pregnant.
But i feel a real big difference between eating healthy and eating junk, I’m happier and I have more energy.
Take care everyone and remember that you are all beautiful, no matter what anyone says

  13. I’m 31 and naturally skinny. My Mom is also over weight and always wishes she could give me some of her fat. It used to bother me and now I just laugh and so does she. I used to eat what ever I wanted, but now I try to eat healthy cause I find that fell better. I walk 30 minutes al least 1 to 2 times a week. Just for fun and because its excercise. Like maria said, you are beautiful no matter what anyone says.

  14. hey every1, im very skinny too naturally, very flat stomach, but i’ve got a nice bum, skinny curvy if you like, perfect combo.
people also think i dont eat, they dont even know me, i eat more than some fat people i know and i just dont gain weight, its the best thing ever, because it runs in my family, my mums thin, dads thin, bros and sis thin.
    i am 5 ft 2 and i weigh 41kg, thats around 86 pounds.
i hate it when girls get stick for bein too skinny naturally, but girls who are overweight dont get girls calling them many names because their problem is more sensitive!
