As a normal hot-blooded male I definitely prefer smaller breasts on a woman, and I think an enormous percentage of guys think similarly. And I don’t mean this in a smutty way, rather in sensual terms, I’ve observed that women with smaller breasts seem much more sensitive to touch. I’ll try to keep this story short, but it really illustrates the problem with what society has taught women to believe about themselves.
A few years ago, I was dating a beautiful woman, who has small breasts. She was complaining about how the pretty pushup underwire bras she wore didn’t have the same effect on her as they had in the advertisements. It wasn’t difficult to get me to take a close look, to find out what was wrong. I took this pretty lady to the nearest Frederick’s, and told her I was going to fix the problem. She said that most of her bras were from there, and they didn’t work right. When we got there, I asked her what size she wore. 32B.
I walked over to the display of lacy, revealing bras, and picked out a beautiful one in size 32A, and told her to go try it on. She argued that she wore a B cup. I insisted that she try the A. She came out of the dressing room with the A cup bra on, and it was doing exactly as advertised. We were both marveling over how great she looked. Then she started to cry, because she had just realized that she was an A cup, not a B. Regardless of the fact that she looked great. But society has got her believing that she has to have larger breasts to be a worthwhile woman. And that pisses me off. I loved the woman for who she was, and her small beautiful breasts were just icing on the cake as far as I was concerned.
So, to all the ladies out there who have small breasts, please, don’t try to hide the fact. Be proud of your beauty, show off your lovely little breasts daily, wear tight shirts, low cut tops, and know that there are plenty of men out here that appreciate how you look. In my opinion, any man that thinks a woman can’t be pretty unless she has large breasts, just wants his mommy. The real men can appreciate you just as you are. And please, NO BOOB JOBS!

Wow, I have just read through all of these comments and it makes me want to cry! I’m 26 with 32A breasts and have always felt insecure about being so small. I was in a long-term relationship with someone who always told me that he loved me the way I was which was a real confidence booster. Then it ended recently and my insecurities have started to creep back.
I was genuinely so surprised to read at all the positive comments from guys about small breasts. I’ve never considered plastic surgery and would never do it but it always upsets me that I don’t feel ‘in proportion’ and am always wishing that I was bigger and get so depressed trying to find clothes that look nice on me.
But I’m starting to understand now that it’s just about being able to feel comfortable and confident with myself and I really hope I will get there one day
Jen, it sounds like you have it right now. Don’t let those insecurities get hold of you. Large breasts ARE NOT A REQUIREMENT for a woman to be beautiful. I’m glad you’re not considering surgery, it would be a shame to lose another beautiful small breasted woman to the surgeon’s knife.
You shouldn’t feel “out of proportion,” 32A is a wonderful proportion. 44A is out of proportion. So is 32DD. You obviously have a small frame, and large breasts fit perfectly. There are plenty of clothes that look good on you, just go find things that show the beauty of your shape, without trying to hide, or “enhance,” your shape.
Here’s hoping that you continue to feel more and more comfortable with yourself, and please, be confident in the knowledge that there a lot of guys out here that DO appreciate your shape.

Sure, there are guys who think that a woman has to be short and have large breasts to be pretty, but there are also guys that know it’s not true. You’ll meet some of them. If there were two women walking together, one who fits Annie’s description exactly, and one who fits Annie’s description, with large boobs added, I would be looking at the small breasted one. If I were talking to these two women, I would treat them both with the respect that they both deserve as women, and wanting to get to know the personalities of them both, but to be honest with you, I would be paying more attention to Annie.

Steph, that is certainly not a situation that is common enough for many people to have an opinion on, never having seen it before. I don’t want this to sound like I’m taking your story lightly, but my first thought when I read it was that I would probably gravitate towards the smaller one most of the time. As to your question, yes, there are guys out there that would not like you for that. These guys are called shallow. A real man would get to know you, and if he likes you, he likes you.
There is a lot of emphasis on small rather than small to flat chested. I’m 10A (Australian size) which is a 32A in USA which would go into the flat chested category. I don’t see how men would like flat chested than to small. I find it quite bizarre. I have a boyfriend who tells me I’m not flat but a handful, yet I do think he is lying to me though he insists he isn’t. Are there guys attracted to flat chested women? There are people who think flat chested is pictured to be as flat as young boys or a young child and it is daunting; even the thought of intercourse with a women would be rubbing the chest of a young boy.

Well, have you ever considered that not all of the guys that, as you call it, check out the ones with bigger breasts do that because they prefer that size? I don’t know what else to tell you, other than the facts as I see them. That is, I can see a pretty girl as a pretty girl, regardless of the size of her breasts. I have wondered about how guys really think about women with absolutely no breast tissue at all, just nipples. I am describing me. The lack of flesh, I have noticed, seems to bother some. They can’t grab anything and seems frustrating.

Personally, I have never been with a girl that had no breast tissue at all, just nipples. I’ve been going through depression due to many factors in my life. Having small breasts has been a small contributor to my mental illness as it primarily comes under my issues with my body image. I’m currently going through therapy to help with my depression. Since I started to have depression I’ve lost weight and made the issue with my appearance, especially my lack of breasts/small breasts worst. I’m a 32A (probably smaller) and I’m underweight still. Small breasts ain’t so great. It makes life harder than you think in so many ways.
It shouldn’t. Make life harder that is. But unfortunitely acceptence of diversity in body and taste is itself not accepted – or so it seems. I’m pretty sure that if the loud ones, those who set the tone for all, kept their mouths shut there’d be more acceptence. Everybody are afraid of these loud ones the yell about how to look, what to like etc. However, they are a minority, so noone should be afraid of them, no matter what kind of power they may posses.
Anonymous, your problem isn’t your small breasts, but the way that you perceive yourself. If you could just believe what we’re telling you, that your small breasts are beautiful, they would be an asset, not a cause of depression.
I’ve seen women in exactly your situation, and they think that if they get implants, all the depression will just go away. It never happens like that. You’ll just find something else to be depressed about. Treat the depression, rather than blaming your pretty breasts.

Do those who love you care about your breasts? I will guess that the do not. I know many people, especially women, who have very very, very low self esteem because of their body-dysmophic self image. Most of them suffer from depression. Depression can make any flaw HUGE. Even if your mind is not in a place to understand this, at least acknowledge this. As human beings, we are only on this planet to live just so long. I truly hope that you accept that being small breasted is who you are. You ARE beautiful. No offense, but I think anything over a B size looks like an alien. I used to have an A cup girlfriend and loved it! I’m on a dating site and found out that only 1 in 2,000 women have a small breast size on my site — in other words, all the small breast sized women are taken! Bummer!! Though my lovely husband has always said he loves my breasts, I always felt that he wouldn’t mind if they were 1 cup bigger. (when I’m exercising a lot, I get smaller. LOL. I’m proud of my body fat % but feels sad that it comes at the price of the size of my boobs.) So thanks to all the guys who have responded positively to this thread. Yes, a man loves us for the whole person whom we are, and a lady is attractive because of her personality, her intelligence, her kindness.

Hello, i am 14 and am …er…, a little flat. i was very pleased that there are actual woman with small breasts. I am so happy i plan to buy a nice swimsuit that actually fits me! no more buying bigger and trying to fill the cups with socks or something. I was worried because of our beach vacation this summer, especially going with my bustier, fleshier friend, I thought that I would be the ugly one out. AMC, come on now. You’re 14. No need to worry about it. In fact, no need to worry about it even later in life. I’m glad we have helped you come to understand that it’s not about breast size. When you go out this summer with your curvy friend, there will be boys that like her better, and boys that like you better. My first girlfriend was flat chested and I used to tease her about this but recently have realized that this is the type of figure I prefer in a woman.

I just took a look at the “real women have curves” page, and it looks like they’re actually getting a lot of negative attention. Yes, curvy women ARE women. But then again, thin women without curves are women, too. Some people are too immature to understand that. So I went to the page for “real women with or without curves,” and liked that one. I don’t need to get into the negative conversation about curves on the other page. Women are women, with or without curves, and they are the most beautiful creatures on the planet. I just happen to prefer slender ladies. If someone has a problem with that, the problem is theirs, not mine.
I’v always liked small and extra boobs. My mates even say I’ve got this thing with extra small boobs and even flat chested ladies. My former girlfriend was Chinese and she was flat chested, and as she was very very confident and never worried about her “flatness”, she was even more attractive! I love small and extra breasted ladies who are not afraid of showing off their assets and wear tight cotton blouses. I find them a major turn on! I have been married to a Japanese lady for 13 years (me being the second generation of Japanese immigrants living in Brazil myself) and my wife carries a couple of super beautiful A cup breasts. Having extra small breasts or being flat chested can really make any women not want to wear a bikini in front of society and mainly boobs obsessed men making us feel bad because ‘we didn’t get born with the boobs we want’.
We can’t win someone’s attraction without boobs and we end up gaining criticism for the lack of them. Men seem to be so picky, with their preferences and tastes of the perfect woman they want. Boobs is always one of those preferences not flat-chest.
Ann, I’m sorry that that woman felt that she had to go under the knife to be pretty. I couldn’t stand to watch as that doctor marked her breasts for “improvement,” so I don’t know how she looked afterwards. I WILL say that she had VERY pretty breasts before, though.
And please don’t paint men with quite such a broad brush. Yes, many men want their mommies, and think big boobs are a prerequisite to being a pretty woman. But not all of us feel that way. Like I said, I thought the woman in the video was beautiful in the before part of the video.

We need to stand together to let them know that plastic surgery is for reconstruction after life saving surgery, and should not be used to ruin the looks of such a beautiful woman. If I had her breasts, I would have put myself in the same situation as her. Pointy but not round breasts really can be inflicting to a woman’s image and perception. Every women wants her breasts to be rounder and not pointy with no roundness. Breasts are seen always to be round and have a certain shape.
I’m starting to feel a bit better about mine though I will always wear a push up bra to conceal the fact that I am flat. I see a psychologist for my depression (was not due to just because I’m flat but other things going in my life) and I’m hoping I can gain weight (I lost 4 kgs the start of the year because of this mental illness and underweight) to get a bigger chest and at other places as well. My psychologist after telling her I complain and have lots of body images issues, she had made a statement saying that I’m proportionate and being smaller in the chest suits my body shape and I have a model’s body. This I found to be utterly absurd @_@
Lots of women want to be something they are not. I don’t want a body of a model but the body of a curvy women. Knowing that there are lots of women who like my body shape and will die for it, you can see that not every person wants to look the same, think the same and have the same tastes. It’s just how we feel about ourselves and wanting a better or different body image. We will alter our bodies no matter what it takes to get what we want when we find it hard to accept what we have.
Ann, I’m sorry that you don’t like your shape, but I hope you understand that there’s nothing wrong with your shape, it’s your perception of it. No, everyone can’t be the same, and I wouldn’t want it to be that way. That’s why I’m happy that many women have small breasts, “model” breasts, if you will. Because although many people think big boobs are the only ones that look good, many of us prefer the “model” shape. I would rather you continue your therapy, learn to be happy with your beautiful body, rather than going to a plastic surgeon and having them try to turn you into something you’re not. I hate to see pretty girls going under the knife for no reason other than to conform to some societal standard. It really makes me sad.

Thanks so much for this. After my kids my breasts went down in size and now I’m AA. I’m trying to gain weight to gain at least one cup size but this is very encouraging. I love this blog. I went shopping at Target and Old Navy recently and I have been SIZED OUT of their clothes. I work very hard to eat healthy and I’m not an exercise freak by any means (a good week is three short shaping workouts) but I can’t gain weight without literally going on a 2.5k cal/day diet of pure sugar and white flour. Then last week I went to buy bras and I’ve been sized into an AA. I was just feeling so freaking unsexy. This has really cheered me up. Thanks so, so much. (Especially you guys… my husband used to say I needed to gain ten pounds but he never gave me time to eat. 😛 )

I like this board a lot, as a girl with boobs that seem immeasurable, probably aa or aaa who knows, I’ve never fully fit a bra, it does feel good to know some guys actually crave smaller boobs. But the real problem I have with mine is their shape, they’re small and more triangular than round. I like girls and boys and agree that small tits are sexy.. But I still hate mine. As a teen I felt out of place but never dwelled on it until I wanted to get intimate with guys, and I hated (and still do) the fear of them presuming my breasts are bigger (bc of padded bras) than actuality, but without one they just look kinda pointy and remind me of a chubby boy. Its so sad. But as I get older I do admit I think I care a bit less each day bc I know I have a lot of other nice physical assets. Just wish I had rounded boobs. Even full As or Bs I would kill for. Although, Harriet, most guys your age are EXCEPTIONALLY immature, and think that a girl has to have big boobs to be cute. Some of them will grow up at some point, many won’t. but you are beautiful just as you are, and don’t need to be worried about immature views of what your body should look like.
Harriet, same thing, although I want to add that what you would feel like with implants is exactly what you would be. A surgically modified person, and very rarely can a doctor improve on what nature has given you. Yes, there are plenty of guys that find you attractive as you are. If you start thinking about implants, please come back so we can try to talk you out of it.

It makes me wonder where you decent men are. I haven’t found a decent guy that likes me overall especially my small A cup breasts (They seem smaller than an A cup). Being Australian and Asian nationality, guys in Australia just don’t appreciate women on the small-ish side that much as the more curvy and A+ cup women. I mean men of my age. Totally not like in America where every women is brandish unfeminine because she has smaller breasts and told she is flat chested and manly, and she runs into the breast surgery clinic to make herself feel feminine as a whole.
I’m 20 years old. One breast is smaller than the other after I removed an odd cyst which left a bit of a empty space between the breast tissue. Family and friends always say that we women are beautiful and gorgeous without seeing and demeaning us for our lack of bigger bust. Older men always check us out and hit on us. I’ve had quite a lot of old men telling me “Hello gorgeous, nice ass!!” or the like. Though I don’t have much of a butt. It’s petite. But I guess in time we realise that not every women can be the same. Or there would be walking barbie dolls everywhere and men will have themselves to blame for making this happen.
The only way we can make ourselves feel better is to be confident about the other aspects that people do appreciate. We all have some odd imperfection that we hate but people seem to skim over it and see the best we got to show. People dictate what the media portrays of what we should be. Some people just don’t watch it because it’s obsessive and dumb wittingly stupid to put people into categories.
I wasn’t confident in myself because the media and society made me feel inadequate as a female. So I tried to walk confidently and dress nicely to give it a go. Attempting to avoid all the chit chat about flat chests and what real women should be. Somehow men and women got a positive vibe about me regardless of my breast size. Yet it is hard finding a decent man. Eventually in time we all find someone that just loves us for who we are and accepts every imperfection we have as a perfection in their eyes.

I have always been looked on as the girl who has nothing, but you guys opened my eyes. =) However, I still wonder if I am what a guy wants. I have hips and it seems to be out of proportion with my chest size so I get guys who look at the lower part of me (even though to me my butt size is average and I don’t see what they see) but, I don’t get guys who look at my chest. I want a guy that finds ALL of me attractive— not just my butt and hips. With small breast, but hips…..am I still attractive? Will a guy like me me for ALL of me?
Small and PROUD! Please! Be proud, my dear lady. You will meet a guy some day, who not only likes your hips, but your small breasts. Not only that, there are actually some guys that will pay attention to who you are, what you think, what kind of person you are. Until then, please don’t be discouraged by the multitude of shallow morons who think a woman can’t be beautiful unless she’s got a “rack.” Plenty of us are able to appreciate you just as you are.
I worked with a woman who was totally flat chested, not even AA cup. However, she was actually popular because she was extremely nice, she was very bubbly and outgoing and she always got involved in everything. I found her attractive too but was already in a relationship. She ended up with a real nice guy.

I love small breasts, I find them lovely and as a bonus, they look much better for a much longer time. Actually finding a lady with small breasts is a challange, but as a bonus, if a guy helps a lady with small breasts see that she is so attractive to him, it helps her feel good about herself.
